These days people are more apt to just give a gift card, or something else generic because of Holiday confusion and anxiety. You would rather them get SOMETHING and not be disappointed with their gift. But where is the feeling and emotion? Where is the genuine reaction? A mug might be the most underrated gift ever! Think about the uses of a mug, not only coffee and tea but also a desk decoration and pen holder! Heck, plant a cute little flower in a mug and you have created the ultimate gift! A mug is something they can look at all day and think about where it came from. One of my employees gave me a mug that says “boss, supervisor, chief, etc.” I literally look at it every time I sit at my desk and I never forget where it came from. Although she’s moved on, she left a permanent impression.

A hoodie might be right up there in underrated gifts. Think about it. Sure, a nice gold bracelet would be GREAT and put a huge smile on someone’s face. But lets say… are they going to wear it while doing dishes? Putting on music and cleaning the house? Are they going to put on a nice piece of jewelry to go shopping at the grocery store?
